Responsibilies:
Research on legal and regulatory matters affecting clientsDrafting responses to Administrative inquiries on behalf of clientsParticipating in meetings with clients and government officials on behalf of clientsAssist in resolving matters at the State or Local level impacting clientsAssist in Administrative Dispute process including Audits, Protests, Settlements, and Appeals or other similar administrative dispute resolution processParticipate in continuing education and outreachKeep up to date on state and local tax law changesParticipate in business development activities and grow revenueParticipate in thought leadership activities including articles, webcasts, and other professional educationDevelop internal relationships within the firm and help grow external branding
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in accounting, finance or related field preferred; Master s Degree in taxation or JD/LLM preferredCPA and/or licensed attorney required.
Minimum of 7 years of related tax experience required; public accounting experience or law firm experience preferredPrevious experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues requiredPrevious experience working with California state or local tax authorities strongly preferredPrevious experience working with other state or local tax authorities preferredUnderstanding of litigation procedures preferredFederal tax background preferredEmployment tax background preferredExperience in state and local government revenue department preferredExperience training and supervising Staff, Seniors, and ManagersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be a highly motivated self-starter and have experience in managing multiple simultaneous client engagementsAble to work effectively both as part of a team and independentlyProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%Here, you ll be challenged and rewarded for leadership, technical excellence, and inspired perspectives.

This is the typical range of pay for the position; however, actual pay may vary based on experience, skillset, and location.
This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
