We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Barn Manager to join our team.
As a Barn Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of our trail riding business and equestrain boarding barn.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Screening, interviewing and management of potential boarders and trainers.
Monitoring and managing the health and safety of all horses on property.
Ensuring all nutrition requirements are met for all horses owned by Napa Valley Trail Rides.
Coordinate with veterinarians and farriers for regular check-ups, vaccines, and treatments.
Managing all staff related business to horses in the trail barn and boarding facility.
Scheduling and administrative duties for trail rides and events.
Keeping trail horses owned by Napa Valley Trail Rides fit and ready to perform for trail rides and leases.
Train and supervise barn staff, providing guidance and support as needed Managing Napa Valley Trail Rides owned tack and other horse related inventory in good working condition Act as agent for Alko Equestrian Center during acquisition or sale of horses, tack, and other horse related items Ordering hay and bedding, for all horses on property as needed.
Ordering of all feed, bedding, and supplies for Napa Valley Trail Rides.
Supervise all aspects of horse related marketing activities and collateral.
Maintenance of logs pertaining to all ranch equipment and barn repairs.
Supervising the maintenance of all three arenas.
Available for emergencies 24/7 and or having resources to attend to any given problem in equestrian center.
Knowledgeable on how to transport horses, trailering hook ups and safety guidelines pertaining to horse hauling.
Work with general manager on outreach program and social media.
Available for property events as necessary.
Submitting monthly invoices, receipts and consolidation reports to accounting and owners
Qualifications:
-10 years of overall experience in equine related business management.
-Extensive knowledge of horse care, including feeding, grooming, and health management.
-Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, clients, and vendors.
-Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to handle behavior management situations with professionalism and tact.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of working in a barn environment (e.
g.
, lifting hay bales, climbing ladders, able to lift 75lbs.
) -Possession of a valid CDL with no history of serious violations.
-High school or college graduate.
-Bilingual preferred.
