Assistant Manager, IT Infrastructure

As the senior technical expert and Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the computing systems and network of the organization. Perform highly complex design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of Virtualization, SAN Storages, Core Applications, Patch Management, Network design and security, Backup systems, and Disaster Recovery planning. Manage Engineers and System Administrators on the Infrastructure team, providing leadership, mentoring, and oversight. Ensure the Infrastructure team maintains reliable and secure technical operation and maintenance of all network devices, hosts and servers. The Job (the big stuff):
Design, maintain and administer the technology infrastructure of The Redwood Group. This includes the network layer, SAN/NAS systems, servers, virtualization environment, databases, and applications. Develop, implement, track, and enforce processes and procedures to manage and administer the technology infrastructure. Work closely with the Infrastructure and Devops teams to automate the management, operation, and monitoring of the technology environment. Demonstrate a senior level understanding of data center operations and best practices. Develop and maintain user guides, network diagrams, procedures, and business continuity information for the IT department. Work closely with IT department managers and leaders to develop and maintain an effective, engaged, and inclusive Infrastructure team. Provide feedback on possible budgetary outlays and maintain operations within budget. Contribute to the key departmental and corporate strategic initiatives and make recommendations to the IT Business Plan. Provide mentorship to the infrastructure and support desk staff. Develop and maintain procedures and practices to assure effective security management and administration of the network and computing devises for the organization. Evaluate, research, and test new industry security practices and recommend solutions to IT senior leadership. Locate and choose new learning opportunities to enhance and further knowledge of department practices. Required Skills What is needed from you:
Knowledge and skill in Microsoft server administration and networking. Knowledge and/or skill in enterprise SAN storage. Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems troubleshooting and resolution. Thorough knowledge of PC and server hardware and software. Current knowledge of processes, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to information technology. Ability to supervise and coach team members. Ability to develop and implement technology projects Required Experience Our ideal candidate would have:
IT Infrastructure experience in Virtualization, server management. Experience in high-availability, 24/7 environment Knowledge of DevOps processes/experience A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field. A minimum of six years' experience maintaining and administering Systems in a virtual, high-availability environment. Supervisory experience preferred. VMware, Cisco, Microsoft or equivalent certifications (nice to have). Mandatory Vaccination Policy:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
